Building differently
By founding the Société immobilière du Regroupement des centres d’amitié autochtones (SIRCAAQ) in 2019, the RCAAQ began its project to make housing more accessible to urban Indigenous citizens.
The SIRCAAQ develops Indigenous living environments that blend safety, cultural belonging and outreach services.
Inclusive, community-based living environments
The SIRCAAQ’s real estate projects are more than just buildings: they are truly community-based living environments, where Indigenous residents can find basic support, local services and a sense of belonging. Each living environment takes a respectful and long-term approach to meeting the social and cultural realities of First Nations and Inuit in urban areas.
A vision based on urban Indigenous expertise
The SIRCAAQ was created to preserve and leverage ’ expertise in urban Indigenous living developed by the RCAAQ and its Native Friendship Centres. This vision leads us to offer concrete, innovative solutions to growing housing needs while fully assuming our pioneering role in community real estate development.
Living environments
Developing community living spaces adapted to Indigenous needs, the SIRCAAQ is active in several Quebec cities:

- Waska Witcihitowin in Trois-Rivières
