Québec Ombudsman Report: RCAAQ Commends the Significant Progress Made

The RCAAQ welcomes the publication of the first follow-up report by the Québec Ombudsman on the Public Inquiry Commission on Relations Between Indigenous Peoples and Certain Public Services in Québec: Listening, Reconciliation and Progress (Viens Commission), to which it actively contributed. The report highlights concrete progress in several sectors, notably justice, education, and health, thanks to measures supported by the Government of Québec. These advancements reflect a willingness to change and a better consideration of Indigenous realities in urban settings. However, significant efforts are still needed to achieve true equity and shared responsibility in public services.
