Indigenous Health Clinics: A Model for True Progress

Over one hundred experts and professionals from the Native Friendship Centres and the public health network gathered at the Indigenous Health Governance Forum on March 20 and 21 in Québec City.

The Indigenous Health Governance Forum brought together several experts in Québec City to discuss the progress made through the health clinics of the Native Friendship Centres. This model, rooted in cultural safety and the realities of Indigenous peoples in urban settings, offers concrete solutions to health challenges. Eight clinics are currently in operation, and three more are in development in collaboration with the health network. These initiatives contribute to reducing inequalities and improving the living conditions of First Nations and Inuit in urban areas.
